New Jersey Transit fare increase approved by board of directors
New Jersey Transit's board of directors has approved a 15% fare increase for bus and train riders, the first increase in nearly 10 years, to help close a budget gap of over $100 million for the upcoming fiscal year. The increase will take effect on July 1, with subsequent 3% annual fare increases.
