Hurricane Ernesto strengthens and causes power outages in Puerto Rico

Hurricane Ernesto strengthened as it passed over Puerto Rico, leaving nearly half of the island without power. The storm is expected to become a major hurricane as it heads towards Bermuda. Heavy rain and flooding were reported in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Forecasters warned of heavy swells along the U.S. East Coast.
