Extension of Foreclosure Moratorium for Los Angeles Fire Victims

The Trump administration is extending a foreclosure moratorium for an additional 90 days to victims of the Los Angeles fires. The foreclosure moratorium will apply to loans insured by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA).

Assistance for Los Angeles Wildfire Victims

HUD Secretary Scott Turner stated that the FHA will assist victims of the Los Angeles wildfires with rebuilding efforts. The fires took at least 29 lives and destroyed thousands of structures. Many insurance policies were dropped prior to the disaster, leading homeowners to rely on California’s FAIR Plan. Ambassador Ric Grenell emphasized the importance of efficiency in the clean-up and rebuild process, disregarding DEI criteria.
