Tropical Storm Alberto in the Gulf of Mexico

A disturbance in the southwest Gulf of Mexico is forecast to become Tropical Storm Alberto before tracking into Mexico, bringing heavy rain, coastal flooding, rip currents, high surf, and isolated tornado impacts into parts of Texas. Tropical storm alerts are in effect for the Texas coast and northeast Mexico. Heavy rainfall is the most widespread impact, with potential for flash flooding and mudslides.
