Prison Guard Ambush in France
Two prison guards were shot dead during an ambush in northwestern France, allowing an inmate named Mohamed Amra, known as The Fly, to escape. The guards killed were young fathers. The justice minister stated that Amra was not considered radicalized or a terrorist. The escape took place during a prison transfer to court. Amra was the head of a narcotics network and had tried to escape before. The incident involved gunfire and multiple injuries.
