Canadian Prime Minister Succession

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre is the top contender to become Canada's new prime minister following Justin Trudeau's resignation. Poilievre, 45, has a 92 percent chance of winning in October's elections. He campaigns for more oil and gas production and against Trudeau's immigration policy. Other possible successors include Chrystia Freeland, Dominic LeBlanc, and Mark Carney.
