Federal Arrests of Non-Citizens in 2018

Non-citizens accounted for 64% of federal arrests in 2018, a significant increase from 1998. The majority of arrests were for immigration offenses. Mexican citizens made up 40% of non-citizen arrests, followed by Central Americans at 20%.

Presidential Elections in the U.S. and Mexico

Both the U.S. and Mexico have presidential elections this year. Mexican election officials are pressing for more of the 12 million Mexican citizens living in the U.S. to cast ballots.
