Shark Attacks at Florida Beach

A popular beach in Florida's panhandle has reopened after two shark bite incidents left three people injured.

Texas Panhandle Wildfire

A massive wildfire in the Texas Panhandle has burned more than one million acres, destroying over 40 homes and claiming the life of 83-year-old Joyce Blankenship. The fire is only three percent contained despite efforts from state agencies and the National Park Service. Thousands of cattle have also perished in the blaze.

Texas Panhandle Wildfire and Evacuations

A rapidly widening Texas wildfire in the Panhandle doubled in size, prompting evacuations and causing damage to homes and structures. The largest blaze, the Smokehouse Creek Fire, burned nearly 400 square miles. A nuclear weapons facility temporarily shut down as a precaution.
