Trichinellosis Infection from Black Bear Meat

A Texas woman found a rare roundworm parasite, trichinellosis, in her backyard after family members were infected by consuming black bear meat at a family reunion in South Dakota. The CDC warned that cooking wild game meat thoroughly is crucial to kill the parasites.
