Farewell to Hobbit-themed Eagle Sculptures at Wellington Airport

Wellington Airport in New Zealand is bidding farewell to two giant, Hobbit-themed eagle sculptures after more than a decade. The sculptures were created to promote director Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” and Hobbit films, filmed in New Zealand. The eagles will be disassembled and placed into storage, with long-term plans yet to be decided.

Warner Bros. Developing New Lord of the Rings Movies

Warner Bros. is returning to Middle-earth with new Lord of the Rings movies in development, set to be released in 2026. The first film, 'Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum,' will be directed by Andy Serkis. Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens will be involved in the project.
