Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP) and Sun Safety

Pol Dominguez, 11, has Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP), a rare disease that makes him sensitive to UV radiation. He and his family have adapted their lifestyle to avoid sunlight exposure, even wearing protective clothing indoors and outdoors. With only 2.3 cases per million live births in Western Europe, XP is a hereditary disease that puts patients at high risk of developing cancer.
