Polar Bear Attack in Canada's Far North
A man in Canada's far north leapt on to a polar bear to protect his wife from being mauled. The man suffered serious injuries but is expected to recover. The incident happened in Fort Severn First Nation, Ontario. The bear was shot by a neighbor and the man was treated for his injuries. Polar bears rarely attack humans, usually when hungry, young, or unwell. Climate change has driven them inland to look for food.
