Arizona Primary Election Update
Former Navy SEAL sniper Rep. Eli Crane, R-Ariz., successfully defended his seat against a primary challenge from Jack Smith, who received indirect financial support from ousted Speaker Kevin McCarthy's allies. Crane had cast Smith as a D.C. 'swamp' candidate. The primaries in Arizona were rescheduled to allow more vote counting time in case of a recount. Arizona is a key state with multiple important races in the House, Senate, and the presidential contest.
