The People's Joker Movie Screening in Theaters Across the U.S.
Vera Drew's trans parody movie 'The People's Joker' is set to screen in theaters across the U.S., despite initial objections from Warner Bros. Discovery over copyright infringement. The film reimagines the Joker's origin with Drew as a closeted trans woman moving to Gotham City to pursue comedy. After a conflict at the Toronto International Film Festival, the movie is expanding to over 20 cities, including Alamo Drafthouses. It was made with the help of 200 creators, most of whom are queer, and features well-known comedians in the cast.
