Russian Military Hackers' New Wi-Fi Hacking Technique
Russian military hackers used a new Wi-Fi hacking technique known as a “nearest neighbor attack” to breach a DC network remotely, without leaving Russian soil. This attack involved daisy-chaining network breaches via Wi-Fi and targeted high-value individuals for intelligence about Ukraine. The hackers were persistent and used compromised devices in neighboring networks to gain access to the target network. This technique represents a significant advancement in their hacking methods.
