Avalanche at Zermatt Ski Resort
An avalanche at the luxury Swiss ski resort of Zermatt killed three people, including a 15-year-old boy from the United States. The other two victims, a man and a woman, are still being identified. A 20-year-old Swiss man was the only survivor and was seriously injured. The avalanche occurred in an out-of-bounds area due to heavy snowfall and high winds.
