College Football Playoff Format Change
The College Football Playoff will now have five conference champions and seven at-large selections. The change was prompted by realignment and the disassembling of the Pac-12. The original plan was for six highest-ranked conference champions and six at-large selections, but it changed to five conference champions and seven at-large selections due to the Pac-12's demise.
