Border Apprehensions and Immigration under the Trump Administration
Former President Donald Trump falsely claimed that the lowest number of illegal border apprehensions happened during his last week in office, when in fact it was in April 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Trump also exaggerated the amount of border wall constructed during his presidency. Apprehensions at the border rose steadily after the pandemic low in April 2020. Trump's statements regarding fixing the border and the decrease in illegal immigration are misleading.
