Veterans Placing Concertina Wire on Border Wall to Slow Migrant Flow
A group of veterans, led by Kate Monroe, placed concertina wire in gaps in the border wall east of San Diego to slow migrant flow from Mexico. Monroe, a retired Marine Corps veteran and Congressional candidate, highlighted the effort as a way to serve the country. Migrant crossings in the San Diego Sector have spiked, with over 140,000 migrants entering in fiscal year 2024 compared to 80,000 in fiscal year 2023.
