Repeal of 12-Year Prison Sentence in Turks and Caicos for Firearms Offenses

The government of Turks and Caicos repealed a mandatory 12-year prison sentence for firearms offenses after American tourists were caught with ammunition in their luggage. Ryan Watson and others faced charges but were granted bond and the law was revised to allow for lesser sentences based on the circumstances.
