Prosecution of National Guardsman's Murder in Chicago

Federal prosecutors have taken on the case of the 2021 murder of National Guardsman Chrys Carvajal in Chicago after Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s office refused to charge a gang member in the killing. Two Milwaukee Kings gang members have been charged with racketeering and murder in connection with the death.

Hundreds mourn the death of mission director Judes Montis and American couple killed by gang members in Haiti. The killings occurred in a gang-controlled area in Port-au-Prince. Montis leaves behind a wife and two children. The U.S. Embassy is working on obtaining the documents needed for the bodies of the American couple to be flown to the U.S.
