Violent Attack on Government Forces in Syria

Fighters linked to Syria’s ousted leader Bashar al-Assad mounted a deadly attack on government forces, resulting in the deaths of 35 members of government forces, 32 fighters loyal to Assad, and four civilians. The attack marked a sharp escalation of tensions in the coastal region of Syria.
