A 20-year-old man was arrested for flying to Florida to attack a fellow gamer with a hammer after an online altercation. The victim survived with severe head injuries. The attacker had never met the victim in person but knew him from the online game ArcheAge.

David DePape was sentenced to 30 years in prison for attacking Paul Pelosi with a hammer and attempting to kidnap Nancy Pelosi. DePape, a former nudist activist, came to the Pelosis' home to speak about Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election but encountered Paul instead. The attack left Paul with a skull fracture and other injuries.
