Illinois Judge Rules Against FOID Card Requirement for Home Self-Defense

White County Resident Circuit Judge T. Scott Webb ruled against the requirement for Illinois residents to have a FOID card to possess a gun for self-defense at home. The case, supported by the Second Amendment Foundation and Illinois State Rifle Association, challenged the FOID card requirement and fee, arguing it violates the Second Amendment. Webb found the defendant's possession of a .22 rifle in her home to be protected under the Second Amendment, and declared the FOID card fee unconstitutional.
