Anthropocene Epoch Proposal Rejection

Scientists have voted against declaring the start of the Anthropocene, a newly created epoch of geologic time, which would mark humankind's transformation of the planet. The decision was made due to disagreements on when the Anthropocene actually began and the limited scope of defining it from the mid-20th century.
