Human Habitation in Lava Tubes in Saudi Arabia

Archaeologists have discovered evidence of human habitation within lava tubes in the deserts of northern Saudi Arabia, with findings dating back at least 7000 years. The underground tunnels provided shelter from the hot desert climate and are transforming understanding of the prehistory of the Arabian peninsula.
