Howard Blatt, a former electrical engineer at MIT, suffered a stroke in 1983 which left him with aphasia, a brain disorder that affects communication. He and his wife, Judy, co-founded the Aphasia Community Group in 1990 to provide support for people with aphasia and their families. The group offers various services and activities to help those affected by strokes and brain injuries.
