Wildfire Risk and Aging Power Infrastructure

The Smokehouse Creek Fire, the largest in Texas history, was caused by a downed utility power pole. Aging power infrastructure and lack of technology to monitor power lines contribute to wildfire risks. Climate change exacerbates these risks. Some utilities are not adequately prepared to prevent wildfires.
