California Utility Ending Agreement with Ivanpah Solar Plant
A California utility is ending its agreement to buy power from a giant solar farm in the Mojave Desert due to cheaper alternative clean energy sources, leading to the closure of parts of the plant. Other renewable energy technologies have become more cost-effective than the concentrated solar power used at the plant.
