The mother of a murder suspect in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson spoke with federal investigators the night before her son was arrested. The suspect, Luigi Mangione, was charged with murder after Thompson was gunned down in New York City. Mangione's mother had filed a missing persons report in November, and the suspect was recognized from surveillance images released by the NYPD. Mangione was taken into custody at a Pennsylvania McDonald's. He had been suffering from debilitating pain and had back surgery in 2023.
