Origin and Evolution of Hezbollah

Hezbollah, the most powerful military and political force in Lebanon, originated from Iran's effort to export the Shia Islamic Revolution. Formed during the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982, Hezbollah evolved into a state within a state with military and civilian infrastructure. It is currently a key player in Lebanon's government, but is also blamed for the country's economic and social crisis.
